NASL Qena threatens to retaliate against police

The National Alliance to Support Legitimacy in Qena said that police crossed the ‘red line’ after detaining girls and women. It threatened to “retaliate against policemen’s wives and children.”

“Blame no one but yourselves,” the alliance said in a statement posted on the Freedom and Justice Party's Facebook page. “We tried to avoid that step but you chose war and the battlefield. You forced us to do what we hate.”

“We watched all the consecutive stupidities of police, who ignored the red lines of traditions in this governorate that is known for cherishing tribes, families, morals and legal values,” the alliance added.

“The last of these violations was detaining women and girls, which tested the patience of the wise people who were keen not to have matters escalate. However, patience is over. Wisdom has become of no value with foolish people,” the statement continued.

The statement concluded by saying, “Your sons are not more honored than our sons. Your women are not safe so long as our women are at your hands, and hence don’t blame anyone except yourselves.”
