Attorney-General Abdel Meguid Mahmoud has requested to see all government contracts with European automaker Daimler-Benz in order to verify claims by an American court that the company payed bribes to an Egyptian government official.
Mahmoud said the Council of Ministers had asked both the Foreign Ministry and the Trade Ministry to furnish him with all documents and information relevant to the case.
The US court has ordered the company to pay fines for bribing government officials in Asia, Africa, Eastern Europe and the Middle East--including Egypt--between 1998 and 2008.

Personally, I would say that our Attorney General Mr. Abdel Meguid Mahmoud is the most busiest, honest and respected man in this country. I admire him for the capacity in dealing with the huge serious number of cases in Egypt.
Surely, he knows how he is going to deal with this case. However, I would like to save his time by cooperating directly with his American colleagues and justice system. As a second idea is that the Egyptian government should ban any future contracts with Daimler Benz until they help in this case.
