Egypt’s natural gas production drops 4.5%

Egypt’s average natural gas production has declined to 4.395 bcf/day y-t-d, down from 4.6 bcf/day in 2014, according to daily business newspaper Al-Borsa

This slowdown is a result of foreign partners lagging in well development operations, which cannot keep up with depleting reserves, an official with state-owned gas company EGAS told the paper.

The Egyptian Petroleum Ministry expects natural gas production to reach an average of 5.4 bcf/day, and consumption to reach 5.57 bcf/day in fiscal year 2015/16.
