Egyptian embassy in Yemen resumes work

Egyptian embassy in Sanaa and other technical offices affiliated to it have resumed their work on Tuesday, one day after work was stopped due to the deteriorated security situation upon clashes between presidential guard and Houthis in Sanaa, according to Egyptian Ambassador to Yemen Youssef al-Sharqawy.

Once informed about the clashes on Monday, Sharqawy called the diplomats and workers at the embassy and demanded that they stay at houses. Parents of schools at the Egyptian school in Sanaa were notified that the mid-year exams will be put off due to security turmoil.

“After ceasefire was agreed on and security situation became better, workers of the embassy and technical offices as well as parents of school students were notified that work to be resumed on Tuesday,” the ambassador said.
