A 5-year old student drowned Thursday after the ferry students use to cross a water channel in the village Qena sank.
Rescue teams pulled out the girl's body from water and are still searching for a 12-year old child.
The residents of the village of al-Mesayed in Qena rescued 15 students who were in the ferry before rescue teams arrived.
An official complaint was filed over the incident and prosecution took over the investigation.
