Sharqiya police arrested a lawyer and a driver who were in possession of 29 artifacts on Thursday evening.
The defendants were arrested in a microbus with the artifacts which bore hieroglyphic inscriptions. The artifacts were seized and the suspects arrested. A claim was filed and prosecutors started investigations.
Sharqiya security director Reda Yableya was tipped off about Ramadan A., age 41, and Saeed E., age 64 and a lawyer, and they were arrested in a microbus by the antiquities police in coordination with San al-Hagar local police.
