Ministry of Tourism spokesperson Rasha al-Azaizy said the safari trip of St. Catherine, in which four people were killed in a snow storm and four others were rescued, was an individual adventure not organized by any travel agency.
“We extend our deepest condolences for the relatives of the victims,” she added.
A statement by the the armed forces said the army’s search and rescue division was not notified of the trip beforehand to take the necessary precautions for such dangerous endeavors.
