All citizens have the right to run for the presidency if they have the correct qualifications, said Arab League (AL) Secretary General Amr Moussa at an AL conference in Cairo on Monday.

“As for my candidacy, I shall address it in due time,” Moussa added.

Also at the conference, which was held to assess Arab political, economic and cultural achievements in 2010, Moussa said the next Arab summit will take place in Baghdad at the end of March. “All Arab leaders agree on the date and place,” he noted.

Moussa rejected claims that the AL only focuses on the Palestinian problem and ignores the situation in Sudan and other issues. “We equally address all Arab issues, be they in Sudan, Iraq or Lebanon, in addition to the Arab-Israeli conflict,” he explained.
