Sisi: Egypt ready to support Lebanese army

President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has expressed Egypt’s readiness to support the Lebanese army.

During a press conference on Monday with Lebanese counterpart Michel Aoun, Sisi described the bilateral ties as a coronation of the ties that exist between the two peoples.

According to Sisi, Egypt has always sought to preserve the stability of Lebanon and its institutions. It has been in communication with Lebanese forces to adopt dialogue as a basis for solving disputes.

He added that Egypt has Lebanon on top of the list of countries that welcome dialogue, considering Lebanon as a leading example in the region for solving issues locally.

Talks with Aoun, according to Sisi, tackled boosting the bilateral ties, especially in economy and trade. They also discussed regional issues like countering terrorism, the Syrian crisis, regional refugees issues and the necessity to stand together against terrorism.
