Egypt

Temperatures expected to dip below 6 degrees overnight

Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) has warned citizens to beware of mist while driving in the early morning on desert or agricultural highways.

It has also urged wearing heavy clothes and taking necessary measures against rain, expected across some provinces.

Egypt was hit on Sunday by a sharp decline in temperatures, with a maximum of 16 degrees centigrade reached in Cairo, compared to six degrees during the night.

The EMA said the low temperatures are expected to continue until Tuesday.

Maximum temperatures expected in Cairo and across the provinces will be between 14-15 degrees centigrade, compared to 5-6 degrees during the night.

Cold weather will be felt in the daytime, turning to be extremely cold during the night nationwide.

Low- and medium-level clouds are predicted above the northwestern coasts, which may lead to heavy rains, possibly reaching to the Delta and Cairo Tuesday
