Tough legal actions taken against 47 international, language schools

Al-Ahram state-run news portal published the names of 47 private and international schools that committed grave breaches, requiring the Ministry of Education to apply sanctions against them.

Sanctions included administrative closure, placement under financial and administrative supervision, warnings to remove the irregularities, or seizure.

Tarek Talaat, director of the private schools department at the Ministry of Education, said in a statement to Al-Ahram portal that the irregularities included the collection of exaggerated fees in violation of the law, teaching foreign curricula in violation of the law, accepting students in large numbers without a license, among others.

– Accepting primary and nursery school pupils without a license. The school obtained a license for the secondary levels only.
