Trial of Egyptian Brotherhood cell in UAE adjourned

The Federal Supreme Court in the United Arab Emirates adjourned on Tuesday the trial of 20 Egyptians and 10 Emiratis over charges of forming a "Brotherhood cell" in UAE.

Six defendants were tried in absentia.

The Emirati top prosecutor accused the defendants of forming and running an illegal cell in the UAE.

The defendants formed an administrative structure to attract new members to the organization, loyal to the Muslim Brotherhood, the prosecutor's statement said. The prosecutor added that they collected money and received donations for the same purpose as well as to overthrow the regime in UAE.

The prosecutor said that the defendants, who were arrested in last January, published documents, photographs and maps belonging to one of the UAE government departments against the law.
