Egypt-based Al Ahram Beverage Company (ABC) yields EGP 2 billion of annual revenues (1/5 of Overall Revenue) based on wine sales, notwithstanding restrictions against spirits ads in Egypt. Beer contributes to 4/5 of sales. Notably, foreigners based in Egypt contribute to 90% of overall wine sales. Making wine is a booming industry in Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Egypt, Lebanon, Jordon and Syria. Wine industry generates USD 340 million and employs 50,000 persons in Arab states, according to a study by AFP.
