Hassan Haddad, a retired father of four from Hawamdeya city, filters tab water at his house in a daily routine using a piece of cotton. Haddad's four children had suffered kidney failure for years but one of them passed away 2 months ago. Al-Masry Al-Youm investigated illegal industrial waste of Hawamdeya sugar company into Nile water and its connection to the increase of kidney failure in Hawamdeya compared to neighboring cities.
