People hold candles during a demonstration on Bourguiba avenue, central Tunis, January 22, 2011. Thousands of people rallied in Tunisia today calling on their new government to quit, as the prime minister said he would resign only once the first democratic vote since independence has been held. Demonstrators in Tunis were joined by hundreds of members of the police, discredited because of the bloody crackdown on protests against president Zine el-Abidine Ben Ali that ultimately led to his ouster on January 14.
