Hawass: Darkness saved The Egyptian Museum

'The Egyptian Museum is safe. It is secure,' says Zahi Hawass, State Minister for Archeologies - repeatedly - in response to accusations of contradictory statements on stolen pieces. According to Hawass, darkness has helped save The Egyptian Museum from a clear and present danger. Thieves, says Hawass, were after gold and red mercury.
