Dozens of activists demonstrated on Tuesday outside the military court complex to protest the summoning of media personality Reem Maged, blogger and journalist Hossam al-Hamalawy, and writer and journalist Nabil Sharaf al-Din by the military prosecution. The summoning came following an episode on satellite television station ONTV in which Hamalawy and Sharaf al-Din criticized the political performance of the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces and the violations of the military police. The protesters said that the right to criticize the military’s political performance must be guaranteed as it now “governs the country and is not at war”.
