Syrian activists in Cairo on Monday announced the establishment of the Free Syrians Union to oppose President Bashar al-Assad who lost his legitimacy, as they put it. The union aims to preserve Syrian national unity, keep the revolution peaceful, reject foreign military intervention and work on toppling the regime.
