Violence erupts between Maspero protesters and armed forces

In an outbreak of unprecedented violence, military forces clashed with protesters outside the Maspero building, penetrating the crowds with armored vehicles in an attempt to disperse them. Twenty-five protesters were killed and hundreds injured in the events.
