Alternative media hits Egypt’s street with “Liars” campaign

The "Generals are Liars" campaign is attracting the attention of the Egyptian public with video presentations covering the clashes that took place when military and security forces dispersed the cabinet sit-in on Magles al-Shaab Street and Mohamed Mahmoud Street protests, as well as a number of other protests. The campaign relies on public displays organized by residents in their neighborhoods as a form of alternative media. Supporters of Egypt's ruling military often join in the fray, shouting hostile slogans and engaging in heated arguments with the campaign members.
