Dozens of journalists organized a protest outside the Journalists Syndicate Tuesday morning, protesting the Shura Council’s criteria for the selection of chief editors of state-owned newspapers. The journalists objected to three basic selection criteria, including the requirements for an Arabic language exam and a work archive, as well as the decision that the chief editors be chosen by a Shura Council Committee rather than through elections.
