Dozens of protesters gathered outside the Sudanese Embassy in downtown Cairo on Saturday, 7 July 2012 to demand the release of journalist Shaimaa Adel, who was arrested on Tuesday while covering the protests in Sudan. The Sudanese security services arrested Adel, a journalist at Al-Watan newspaper, along with Sudanese journalist Marwa al-Tijani and a female political activist, from an internet cafe in Khartoum's Haj Youssef district. The three women were taken to an unknown location.
