Official: 50 baggage scanners installed at train stops

50 baggage scanners have been installed at 30 train stops, including 11 stops in Upper Egypt and 19 in Delta, to face terrorist threats, according to Major General Ahmed Hamed, head of the Egyptian National Railways Authority.
 
In a statement on Thursday, Hamed that 62 smart gates were installed at 27 stops including 12 in Upper Egypt and 15 in Deta to follow on security situation.
 
Surveillance cameras were also fixed at the main stops in Cairo’s Ramsis district and Alexandria’s Sidi Gaber. Other cameras will be installed at all of the authority’s 22 main stops in addition to six stops in Upper Egypt later, Hamed added.
