Oman receives Egyptians fleeing Yemen turmoil

Oman has said it had opened its borders to allow in Egyptians fleeing the war in Yemen, the kingdom’s official news agency said as quoted by Egypt’s agency MENA.

The report said the kingdom is giving much attention to the safety of Egyptians in Yemen who sought refuge in the sultanate.

The move comes as most flights to and from Yemen were suspended and the majority of airports closed amid the Saudi-led air strikes against Hohti rebels at war with the internationally recognized, Arab-backed president Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi.
