Protesters attack FJP headquarters in Mahalla

The Freedom and Justice Party headquarters in Mahalla was set on fire by hundreds of protesters on Friday evening, who first barraged the building with stones and Molotov cocktails.

Security and civil defense forces headed to the area in an attempt to put out the flames and disperse the protesters.

Opposition protesters and Muslim Brotherhood youth skirmished throughout the evening in the surrounding streets, as local residents took measures to protect their shops and properties.

In Tanta, dozens of demonstrators attacked the local council headquarters with stones and blocked Bahr Street, causing traffic jams throughout the city.
