Second day of sit-in at Qandil’s house

For the second day in a row, dozens of academics with master’s and doctoral degrees protested in front of Prime Minister Hesham Qandil’s house on Zuhair Street in Dokki on Thursday.

They blocked the road with barriers as they demanded to be appointed to the state’s administrative body, holding banners reading: “Unemployed with a master’s degree,” and chanting for a new prime minister.

Security forces tried to persuade the protesters to open the road, but had to reroute traffic instead, causing severe traffic congestion.

Central Security Forces were deployed to the area.
