  • Counting votes on constitutional amendments at a polling center, March 19, 2011. As voting process has come to an end, vote count starts in earnest in one most anticipated poll in Egypt's history for decades. Egypt wintnessed an unprecedented polling turn-out since 8 AM at 54,000 polling centers nationwide, after a historic uprising which led to president Mubarak's ouster. Egyptians voted on amendments to nine constitution articles. The poll has seen high controversy among political forces and Egyptians at large.

Polling stations closed after referendum for counting votes, 19 March, 2011. An increase in turnout was seen across Egypt's 54,000 polling stations since 8:00 in the morning to say 'Yes' or 'No' on constitutional referendum which includes amendments on nine articles of the constitution. Although political forces adopted different stances whether to say yes or no, state of consensus on participation - in general- prevailed.
