Strong Egypt Party to participate in Morsy’s dialogue

Abdel Moneim Abouel Fotouh

, the head of the Strong Egypt Party, announced that he would participate in President Mohamed Morsy's national dialogue.

In a statement issued on Monday, the party said it would submit proposed resolutions to the current crisis to Morsy, despite the fact that the ruling party had failed to commit to resolutions made during the last dialogue.

The party would also submit a proposal on how the dialogue should be run.

Morsy should reduce the month-long curfew for Suez, Port Said and Ismailia that he issued yesterday to only one week, and intensify security there to protect citizens and safeguard peaceful protests, as well as public and private property, the statement continued.

The party suggested forming an independent judicial committee to investigate the violence in Suez and Port Said, and issue a report within one month. All state institutions should collaborate with the committee, the statement said.

Abouel Fotouh also suggested the formation of a crisis management committee that would be presided over by Morsy, as well as a national salvation government that would guarantee the integrity of the upcoming parliamentary elections, create a standard procedure for national dialogues and settle all disputed issues.
