Student killed in Brotherhood clashes with security at Alexandria University

A student was killed in clashes between Brotherhood students of Alexandria University and security on Thursday.

Alexandria Security Director Amin Ezz Eddin said the university president requested the police to intervene and control the situation after the campus security failed to control the students who were protesting in support of deposed President Mohamed Morsy.

Police fired tear gas canisters to disperse hundreds of Brotherhood students marching in front of the Faculty of Commerce and launching fireworks.

The Security Directorate sent reinforcement troops to prevent the students from marching out again.
