Two policemen given suspended sentence for breaking into engineer’s apartment

Nozha Misdemeanor Court sentenced on Wednesday two National Security Agency officers to two months of labor in prison and LE5,000 for each to suspend the sentence.
 
According to investigations, the two officers, Ahmed Essam Mohamed and Mohamed Rushdy Mohamed, were convicted of storming into an apartment of an engineer and detaining him and his bearded brother illegally, then detaining them at Almaza prison. They also tortured them until they forced them to confess affiliation to a terrorist group.
 
The incidents took place before the 2011 revolution.
 
Prosecution ruled out the torture accusation. The two suspects were referred to Heliopolis Court. Judge then recused himself. The lawsuit was then referred to Nozha Misdemeanor Court.
