Two Ukrainian tourists killed, 4 injured in Hurghada

Two Ukrainian female tourists were killed and 4 others were injured in an attack on a hotel in Hurghada, security and medical sources in the Red Sea governorate reported on Friday.

The perpetrator of the attack who stabbed the victims was caught by hotel workers as he attempted to escape.

A security cordon was imposed around the scene and officials began investigating.

An Egyptian eyewitness guest at the hotel told Al-Masry Al-Youm the attacker addressed him on the beach after he stabbed a tourist in her neck saying: “Stay away. I do not want Egyptians. You are not the target”.

The witness said upon anonymity the attacker was a young man in his mid-twenties, about 180 centimeters tall, wearing jeans and a black T-shirt.

The attacker attempted to swim away in the sea, but police officers used a boat belonging to the hotel and caught him, the eyewitness said. He explained that the attacker had arrived at the hotel from the beach of a nearby resort.
