Meteorologists say hot weather is forecast for northern coasts Thursday with highs of 36C in Alexandria. Temperatures will be extremely hot everywhere else during the day with highs of 41C in Cairo.
In Upper Egypt, highs of 45C will be reached in Qena, Luxor and Aswan.
Low- and medium-level clouds will be seen above north coasts to be accompanied by rains in the west. Moderate northeastern winds will prevail in northern Upper Egypt, whipping up sand and dust, as well as on the Red Sea and Suez Gulf, disturbing maritime navigation there.
Waves in the Mediterranean and Red Sea will reach 1.5-2 to two meters in height. Northeastern winds will prevail on the Mediterranean, with northwesterlies on the Red Sea.
