Youth movements to stage protests on 25 January

Mahmoud Omar, Secretary General of Strong Egypt students' movement said the movement would participate in the 25 January next protests under the slogans bread, freedom, and social justice.

The 25 January revolution has not taken place to celebrate the Interior Ministry or the achievements of the police, but rather to stress that the police have to respect the humanity of citizens and stop arresting and killing them randomly, Omar said in a statement to Al-Masry Al-Youm. Omar pointed out that police seem to have not received the message.

Omar said that the movement would stage protests along with the Revolution Path Front to demand bread, freedom and social justice and to stress that the people are not all Brotherhood or terrorists.

April 6 Youth Movement member Lotfy al-Sayed said the movement would also participate in planned protests on the anniversary of the 25 January revolution. He added there would be a new revoliutionary wave to demand the release of political detainees and call for a civilian president who has no military background.

Sayed denied the movement coordinated with the Muslim Brotherhood youth for the protests.

Constitution Party youth leader Ahmed Fahmy said university students belonging to the party decided to take part in the protests to demand the release of detained students, denying coordination with the Muslim Brotherhood as well.
