At least 24 people have been killed and more than 50 others sustained varying degrees of injuries following a powerful explosion targeting a train transporting military personnel in Pakistan’s southwestern province of Balochistan.
Local authorities confirmed that the blast ripped through the provincial capital of Quetta, triggering a massive, city-wide security and medical mobilization.
In the immediate aftermath of the explosion, emergency rescue teams and heavily armed security forces rushed to the scene to secure the area and pull victims from the wreckage. Paramedics rapidly transported the wounded to nearby medical facilities for urgent treatment.
To cope with the sudden influx of casualties, provincial authorities declared an immediate state of emergency across all government hospitals in Quetta, recalling additional doctors, surgeons, and critical care medical staff to duty.
