The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas denied the participation of Palestinians in the downing of a helicopter in North Sinai, last week .
The group said in a statement, read by spokesperson Samy Abu Zohry on Sunday evening, that “the allegations of some Palestinians involvement in downing an Egyptian aircraft are lies, fabricated by the Palestine Press website, which is affiliated with Fatah movement, and was then quoted by an Egyptian newspaper and other media.”
Abu Zphry described the news as “adsurd,” and wondered, “how did the eyewitnesses know that some of the participants are Palestinian? How did they know their names? And how did they know that one of them lives in the central region in the Gaza Strip?"
