Humidity reaches its highest levels, as very hot weather grips Egypt on Sunday

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) expects Saturday’s weather to be hot and humid to very hot during the day across most parts of the country, with moderately hot temperatures at night and the early morning.

The authority warned of high humidity, with the highest recorded levels reaching 97 percent on the north coast, causing temperatures to feel hotter by two to three degrees Celsius.

Active, intermittent winds are expected until Tuesday in the north of the country, including northern Upper Egypt and South Sinai.

 

Expected temperatures on Saturday:

  • Alexandria: 30C
  • Cairo: 36C
  • Hurghada: 38C
  • Sharm el-Sheikh: 40C
  • Luxor and Aswan: 42C
