Trade and Industry Minister Mounir Fakhry Abdel Nour has announced that the House of Representatives' elections will be held in early autumn, most likely in September.
Abdel Nour told Al-Masry Al-Youm that political parties on the current political scene are not at the desired level which would allow them to acquire the voters' confidence, especially with the lack of a clear political agenda.
This situation is dangerous because it may produce a parliament without a clear majority, or the control of a bloc that does not have enough expertise to form a government, he added.
This may lead us to a "fragmented parliament", Abdel Nour said. A strong coalition might be formed after the parliament is elected, he added.
Abdel Nour stressed that there should be a political force backing the president in the parliament.
