‘The Batman’ teaser featuring Robert Pattinson hits 2 million views in 24 hours

The first teaser for “The Batman” (2021), featuring Hollywood actor Robert Pattinson as the famous superhero, has hit over two million views in 24 hours after it was unveiled during the “DC FanDome” online entertainment forum held on Saturday.

Filming had halted indefinably following the outbreak of the coronavirus in March, having previously been slated for a June 25, 2021 release.

The film’s new release date is now set for October 1, 2021.

The teaser focuses on the villainous Riddler (Paul Dano), who leaves behind a series of insidious clues at murder scenes to tease Batman and Commissioner Gordon (Geoffrey Wright).

It also shows some quick glimpses of Batman’s rival Catwoman (Zoe Kravitz), and Pattinson’s first appearance in the famed Batsuit and Batmobile.

Director Matt Reeves emphasized during the forum that the film will not be an origin story.

Instead, it takes place in the second year of Batman’s vigilante work in Gotham, and focusing on the early days of Batman and his rogues gallery, including Catwoman, Riddler and the Penguin (Colin Farrell).
