Two air-conditioned trains will be put into Service at Helwan-Marg subway line before the start of the next academic year, head of the Egyptian Company for Metro Operation and Managment, Aly Fadaly said.
This raises the number of the air-conditioned trains on this line to five, besides 20 trains that are being now under manufacturing by the Arab Organization for Industrialization, according to Fadaly.
He added that the company arranged with the AOI to manufacture two trains each 45 days instead of one per month.
Egypt’s Cairo subway was first inaugurated in 1989. Currently running on three lines, a fourth line is expected to be completed before 2019.
