Palestinian think-tank campaigns for Abbas’s removal

A Palestinian think-tank has launched a poll surveying whether respondents support the removal of Palestinian Authority chief Mahmoud Abbas, arguing that his policies have done away with Palestinians’ rights.

The London-based Palestinian Affairs Center said Abbas has ceded the Palestinian refugees' right of return, while hindering international efforts to denounce Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territories.

The center also accused Abbas of supporting the blockade imposed on the Hamas-run Gaza Strip.

The organization accused the Palestinian president of renouncing the Palestinians’ right to Jerusalem as the capital of their future state.

The center has recently condemned Abbas’s UN membership bid. Palestine currently enjoys the status of an observer state.
