Watch first official trailer for ‘The Legend of Tarzan’

The first trailer for "The Legend of Tarzan" shows John Clayton III, played by Alexander Skarsgard, return to his former life as Tarzan, in a plot bent on trapping the lord of the jungle.

In the two-minute trailer, there's a lot of jungle, apes, swinging from trees, shirtlessness, and a teaser of Tarzan's signature war cry.

After years of living a gentrified life as Lord Greystoke with his wife Jane, played by Margot Robbie, Tarzan is sent to Congo to serve as a trade emissary of Parliament, unaware that he is actually a pawn in a deadly plot hatched by a Belgian captain.

The film also stars Samuel L. Jackson, Djimon Hounsou, John Hurt and Jim Broadbent and is directed by David Yates whose credits include the final four "Harry Potter" films and the upcoming "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them."

The Warner Bros. film is set to release in theaters July 2016.
