2 doctors injured after patient’s relatives storm hospital ER

Dozens of people stormed Suez Canal University Hospital emergency room on Wednesday, attacking surgeons and wounding two doctors. The incident occurred after relatives of a female patient entered the emergency room thinking that the physicians had failed to examine an injured girl.

Police and military personnel took control of the situation and prevented non-patients from entering the emergency room.

A medical source said that those storming the facility demanded that hospital personnel “save the patient.” According to the source, the patient’s family believed that “the doctors had delayed examination and administration of life-saving procedures.”
