Egyptian army announces crash of training plane, crew killed

The Egyptian Armed Forces announced the crash of a training plane in one of the training areas due to a technical malfunction, killing its crew.

A statement from the military spokesperson for the Egyptian Armed Forces said that, during one of the Air Force’s training activities on Monday, a training plane crashed following a technical malfunction, killing its crew and the necessary measures are being taken by the relevant authorities.

The Armed Forces offered its sincere condolences to the families of the deceased.

Local sources and eyewitnesses reported that the plane crashed into the sea near Ras el-Bar beach, sparking panic among vacationers and citizens present.

The Ras el-Bar Police Department forces, supported by ambulances and civil defense vehicles, immediately rushed to the crash site and imposed a wide security cordon around the area.

The plane reportedly crashed into the sea, necessitating a marine rescue to secure the site and search for any survivors.

The relevant authorities continue to investigate to determine the exact causes of the accident.

Citizens and vacationers in the area where the plane crashed shared footage on social media showing the gathering of security forces at the crash site, as well as the dispatch of a large number of ambulances.
