The Official Spokesperson for the Egyptian Presidency, Mohamed Al-Shenawy, uploaded a video clip on Facebook showing the moment US President Donald Trump’s aircraft, designated Air Force One, entered Egyptian airspace en route to the Sharm El Sheikh Peace Summit.
The video featured the voice of the commander of the Egyptian F-16 fighter jet squadron that escorted the US Presidential plane, welcoming them into Egyptian airspace and conveying a message from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.
The Egyptian squadron commander delivered the following message: “Call to the Presidential aircraft of the United States, Air Force One, we welcome you to the airspace of the Arab Republic of Egypt.”
“We also convey to you the welcome of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, President of the Republic, and his wishes for your safe arrival. We wish to inform you that we will be escorting you until arrival.”
Trump participated in the Sharm El Sheikh Peace Summit, where he witnessed the signing of a comprehensive document to end the war in the Gaza Strip, alongside the leaders of Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey.
