The 46th Cairo International Film Festival’s president, Hussein Fahmy on Saturday inaugurated the second edition of the Cairo Film Market as part of the Cairo Film Industry Days.
Fahmy welcomed the market’s guests in his opening statement, as well as all the supporting companies, institutions, and participating distributors.
He then led attendees on a tour of the various sections to familiarize them with the exhibitors’ spaces and the services offered by the market this year.
The director of the Cairo Film Industry Days, Mohamed Sayed Abdel Rahim, expressed his delight at the launch of the second edition of the Cairo Film Market, noting that the great success of the previous edition helped expand this year’s participation.
The presence of more than 20 production companies and supporting institutions reflects the market’s positive progress towards creating a comprehensive professional environment that helps filmmakers build genuine partnerships and develop their projects, he noted.
The Cairo Film Market is a key event within the Arab film industry, providing a specialized professional platform that allows participants to showcase and develop their projects, as well as stay abreast of the latest trends in production and distribution.
This reinforces the Cairo International Film Festival’s role in supporting the industry and strengthening the skills of its professionals, while keeping pace with global developments in the field.
