
The Red Sea Chamber of Diving and Water Sports (CDWS) announced on Tuesday the rescuing of 30 people who were aboard the safari yacht “My Sephoria” on the coral reef in the Abu Kizan area, near the city of Marsa Alam in the Red Sea.
The Chamber confirmed in a statement that all passengers, including tourists and the yacht’s crew, are safe and in good health.
The group consists of 21 foreign tourists of various nationalities and nine Egyptian crew members.
They were transferred to the safari yacht “Turquoise.”
The CDWS explained that they received the necessary care and that accommodation was arranged for them in suitable hotels upon their safe return, pending the completion of official procedures.
It added that upon receiving the report the Chamber acted immediately, notifying the relevant authorities and monitoring the safety of everyone on board the vessel.
The authorities, in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and the Chamber, continue to provide full support to the passengers and meet their needs until the investigations are concluded.
The Chamber of Diving and Water Sports indicated that it will continue to closely monitor the situation to ensure everyone’s safety.
