The Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC) launched the Zad al-Izza (Provisions of Honor) convoy on Thursday, marking its 142nd mission to provide comprehensive humanitarian relief to Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
As part of its Ramadan Meals for One Million initiative, the ERC dispatched over 197,000 food parcels and 235 tons of flour. The shipment also included 390 tons of medical supplies and personal care kits, roughly 760 tons of fuel, and essential winter gear, including blankets and cold-weather apparel.
Simultaneously, ERC teams at the Rafah crossing continue to facilitate the transfer of the 14th group of wounded and ill Palestinian patients. Volunteers are providing logistical support for both incoming and outgoing cases, assisting them through the necessary border formalities.
The ERC is providing an integrated relief package that extends beyond physical aid. This includes psychosocial support for children, Restoring Family Links (RFL) services, and the distribution of Iftar and Suhoor meals. Additionally, the society is providing “Return Kits” for those heading back into the Strip.
Since the onset of the crisis, the ERC has maintained a constant presence at the border, noting that the Egyptian side of the Rafah crossing has remained open throughout. With over 65,000 volunteers working across various logistical hubs, the organization has successfully facilitated the entry of more than 800,000 tons of humanitarian aid to date.
