Egypt’s national carrier, EgyptAir, has announced the phased resumption of scheduled flights to three major destinations in the United Arab Emirates, starting Monday, March 9.
The decision follows extensive coordination with civil aviation authorities across the Gulf region and comes as the airline monitors recent regional developments that have impacted Middle Eastern airspace.
Flight schedule and operations
According to EgyptAir’s official statement, the airline will implement a staggered rollout to restore air travel between Cairo and the UAE:
- Sharjah: One daily flight commencing Monday, March 9.
- Dubai: Two daily flights commencing Monday, March 9.
- Abu Dhabi: One daily flight commencing Tuesday, March 10, following operational coordination with Abu Dhabi airport authorities.
Navigating regional disruptions
The resumption marks a cautious reopening of key travel corridors.
Regional aviation saw significant disruption earlier in March, with thousands of flights cancelled or rerouted following military escalations in the region.
EgyptAir had previously suspended services to 13 regional cities but has been gradually adding capacity to meet the rising demand for repatriation and essential travel.
The carrier emphasized that its Integrated Operations Control Center remains in constant contact with international stations and aviation bodies to adjust schedules as the security situation evolves.
