Temperatures to drop slightly at night, yet high humidity persists across Egypt

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) has released the latest weather forecast for the nation.

While the atmosphere is expected to improve slightly—particularly during the evening—high humidity levels will persist, making temperatures feel two to four degrees warmer than they actually are.

The weather is projected to be moderately hot and humid in the early morning, transitioning to hot and humid during the day across most parts of the country.

The southern regions meanwhile will experience extremely hot conditions, followed by moderately hot and humid weather at night and into the early hours of the morning.

Expected temperatures

  • Greater Cairo: Expected high of 35C, with a “feels like” temperature of 37C.
  • North Upper Egypt: Expected high of 36C, with a “feels like” temperature of 38C.
  • South Upper Egypt: Expected high of 39C, with a “feels like” temperature of 40C.

Rain forecast and sea conditions

The EMA noted a low probability of light rainfall over scattered areas of the northwestern coast and northern Delta. These light showers may briefly extend to parts of Greater Cairo and the northeastern coast, though no significant disruptions are anticipated.

Noticeable wind activity is expected across most regions intermittently, which will help cool down the atmosphere during the night.

However, active winds along the beaches of Matrouh, El Alamein, Alexandria, Baltim, and Port Said will cause wave heights to rise between 1.5 and two meters.
