Video: Within hours of release, Avengers: Doomsday trailer garners 21 million views

Marvel Studios released the second trailer for “Avengers: Doomsday”, further fueling audience excitement for the highly anticipated film which brings together a large number of heroes from the Marvel Cinematic Universe and is scheduled for release in theaters on December 18.

The trailer received widespread attention, trending on social media and achieving over 21 million views on YouTube within just 17 hours of its release.

The trailer features several of the film’s stars, including Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, Chris Evans as Steve Rogers/Captain America, and Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter, alongside Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, or Invisible Woman, who warns a group of Earth’s strongest heroes about the threat posed by the villain Doctor Doom.

Scenes also focus on the details of Doctor Doom’s costume.

The trailer then cuts to Red Richards/Mr. Fantastic, played by Pedro Pascal, as he confronts Doctor Doom amidst the ruins, before Thor, played by Chris Hemsworth, threatens him, saying: “Doom will beg Hell before I give him.”

Before Thor can strike Doom with his Stormbraker, as seen in the film’s first trailer, Doom manages to deflect the attack and unleash a beam of green energy at Thor. Doom is also shown lifting a group of Sentinels, some of the most notorious villains in the X-Men universe, before declaring, “Hell answers me. I am Doom.”

Before the trailer ends, the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, the Thunderbolts, and several other heroes unite to confront Doctor Doom.

This film marks Robert Downey Jr.’s return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe after the death of his iconic character Tony Stark/Iron Man in Avengers: Endgame.

The cast of Doomsday also includes some of stars from the film Thunderbolts, including Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, David Harbour as The Red Guardian, Lewis Pullman as Sentry, Wyatt Russell as The American Agent, and Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost.

 

X-Men Stars Return

Doomsday marks the official debut of several stars from the X-Men franchise, formerly owned by Fox, within the Marvel Cinematic Universe following Disney’s acquisition of the studio.

The film features the return of several stars from the series, including Patrick Stewart as Professor Charles Xavier, Ian McKellen as Magneto, James Marsden as Cyclops, Kelsey Grammer as Beast, Rebecca Romijn as Mystique, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, and Channing Tatum as Gambit.

“Avengers: Doomsday” is scheduled for release in theaters on December 18, bringing together a large number of characters and heroes from various Marvel universes in a single showdown.
